I recently worked on board overseeing these two areas. They're great roles, providing food & drinks to the Crew who couldn't do without their meals, or their coffee!!
Sales Staff work in the Cafe & Ship Shop, serving the Crew and keeping the ship shop well stocked with stuff that comes via containers. This is a wonderful service to the Crew, and a warm friendly smile goes a long way to motivating and caring for everyone on board. The team work shift, including evenings and some weekend shifts.
The Dining Room Staff are some of the real heroes, working with the Galley Staff to provide up to 1,700 meals a day! On weekdays the Food Services team provide three meals a day, with two meals a day at weekends. The team work long days, often two days on, two days off. This gives you a lot of time to get involved in other activities running on your days off. You get to meet and bless everyone, also working with local Day Crew who assist the Food Services teams.
Both are great roles, so it really depends on what you enjoy doing! Let me know if you have more questions.
