Hi everyone, my name is Dauren.

I am from Kazakhstan, and I will be the first volunteer from this country, If I am not mistaken.I heard about Mercy Ships when I was living with my American family. I was excited about the idea of helping people and multicultural crew, and I applied immediately for 4 months.

I was pre-qualified as IS Support Specialist to the Mercy Ships in Dakar in November 2018. During the interview, the IS Manager told me to be ready either in October 2019 or January 2020. It is up to the new ship's arriving. I am working now and I am applying for Master degree this year so I will start next summer my classes. Recently, I've had an offer to get promoted. I just want to plan all of this.

How many months in advance usually HR inform volunteers?

I've texted couple of times for the last 2 months to Rachel-Elise Cairncross, but I've got no feedback yet. In May they told me that I'm in the Talent Pool and I should wait. I know that it is hard to predict everything, but if you have any information, could you please share it with me to get a rough idea what's going on and what to expect. I really want to join to the team.

God bless. Thanks for your help.
